ESGO 2026 Session Types
ESGO 2026 features a diverse and dynamic lineup of scientific sessions designed to inspire collaboration, foster learning, and drive the future of gynaecological oncology. Below is an overview of the various sessions you can expect, each offering a unique and impactful experience.
In line with the congress's commitment to advancing cancer care, we will feature sessions dedicated to the presentation and discussion of newly established clinical guidelines. Leading experts will present the latest updates in clinical practice for treating various types of cancer, addressing advancements in diagnosis, treatment regimens, and patient management. These sessions provide attendees with the most current standards of care, ensuring that they are equipped with evidence-based knowledge for better patient outcomes.
The scientific sessions will bring together leading researchers, academics, and professionals to present and discuss the latest advancements, emerging trends, and ongoing challenges in the field. One of the most anticipated features of the congress are our Tumour Board sessions, where multidisciplinary teams of experts will review real-world patient cases and discuss the most effective diagnostic, treatment, and management strategies for complex cancer cases. Tumour boards offer a valuable opportunity for attendees to observe and engage in high-level decision-making processes and explore various treatment options for difficult cancer cases.
Live surgery is a unique scientific session format allowing the audience to watch live surgeries from European hospitals of excellence using different techniques with commentary by experts in the auditorium. Leading figures on the European scene will perform these surgeries.
In an exciting new format, we are introducing the Grand Rounds panel discussion, where patients and experts will share their experiences in an open, interactive setting. This session will bring together gynaecologic oncology professionals and patients who have directly faced the challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Experts will discuss clinical approaches, while patients provide personal insights into their treatment journey, highlighting the emotional, psychological, and practical aspects of cancer care. This powerful exchange aims to bridge the gap between medical professionals and patients, creating a deeper understanding of how cancer care can be more personalized and human-centered.
The Colloquium is designed for a more intimate, focused exchange of scientific ideas and research findings. During these sessions, thought leaders and researchers will present in-depth analyses of emerging trends in gynaecological oncology, with a focus on cutting-edge research, novel treatments, and forward-thinking strategies.
These sessions are supported by industry by an educational grant. The industry has no influence on the content or selection of speakers.
Industry Symposia will be held to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, highlighting the role of the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries in advancing cancer care. These sessions will feature presentations from industry leaders on the latest therapies, treatment modalities, diagnostic tools, and technologies available for improving cancer treatment outcomes. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about innovative products, clinical trial updates, and partnerships that are shaping the future of gynaecological oncology. These sessions also allow for discussion on the regulatory, economic, and logistical aspects of introducing new therapies into clinical practice.
Workshops provide a practical learning experience for congress attendees, focusing on specific skills, techniques, or tools that can enhance their work in gynaecological oncology. Workshops will be led by experts in the field and designed to be interactive, allowing participants to engage with the content in real-time, ask questions, and practice newly learned techniques.

Abstract Sessions
The Video sessions will offer an engaging and dynamic way to experience the latest in clinical and scientific breakthroughs. These sessions will feature video presentations, including case studies, surgical demonstrations, and animated explanations of complex procedures or new treatments.
Each session is chaired by an expert who can present an own video on the topic. In addition, the program is composed of 4-5 video presentations submitted as abstracts.
Our oral abstract sessions will showcase some of the most innovative and impactful research in the field of gynaecological oncology. These sessions provide researchers with the opportunity to present their original work to an engaged audience of experts. The abstracts, selected for their high scientific merit, will cover a broad range of topics, from novel drug discoveries to innovative treatment techniques and biomarkers.
The Best oral session consists of 4 presentations of 10 minutes each selected from submitted abstracts by the Scientific Committee and lectures of invited discussants with Q&A at the end of the session.
Our oral abstract sessions will offer invaluable insights into the cutting-edge advancements that are shaping the future of cancer care.
The Mini oral session features 8 presentations of 5 minutes each selected from submitted abstracts by the Scientific Committee, followed by Q&A at the end of each presentation.
Our oral abstract sessions will showcase some of the most innovative and impactful research in the field of gynaecological oncology. These sessions provide researchers with the opportunity to present their original work to an engaged audience of experts.
This special Best three minutes presentation session includes 12 presentations lasting 3 minutes each (1 slide), followed by Q&A.
A special session dedicated to young scientists under the age of 40, consisting of 9 presentations selected by the Scientific Committee and followed by Q&A at the end of each presentation. The best-selected research study and presentation will be awarded at the Closing Ceremony.
The innovative poster session is a unique opportunity for attendees to explore a wide range of scientific research in an interactive, visually engaging format. Researchers will display their work on large posters, offering a deep dive into their findings, methods, and implications for clinical practice. This session fosters networking and allows for one-on-one discussions with the researchers themselves. The posters will cover diverse topics, including translational research, clinical trials, and the latest in cancer diagnostics and treatments, highlighting the broad scope of innovation within gynaecological oncology. Selected discussants will guide you through the posters offering their perspective on the topics.
