Applications

We will start accepting applications for the ESGO 2024 Congress Social Media Ambassador programme from November 16, 2023.

Ambassadors will be asked to:

Choose 3–5 sessions per day from the ESGO 2024 scientific programme, according to their personal or professional interest,
Attend those sessions,
Post reportage (commentary + pictures/video) about the sessions’ scientific content in real time. Posts can be made in English and/or in the ambassador’s native language(s).

The objective of the Social Media Ambassador programme is to highlight the practice-changing research and discussions taking place at ESGO 2024.

Ideally, the programme will not only raise the profile of ESGO 2024 in gynaecological oncology spaces online but will also help boost the ambassadors’ own platforms and voices.

Ideal Candidates

Are active and enthusiastic users of at least one of the following platforms: Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
Can commit to attending the Congress in Barcelona on March 7-10, 2024.

The selected ambassadors will be:

Given training on how to best cover a live event on social media,
Recognised publicly on the ESGO 2024 Congress website for their contributions before and throughout the event,
Granted an admission to pre-congress workshop on Soft presentation skills,
Awarded a free ticket to the ENYGO Networking Event.

Social Media Ambassadors' Role

When accepting the role of ESGO 2024 Social Media Ambassador,

the selected candidate agrees to:

Produce posts related to ESGO 2024, its scientific content, and the ESGO community
Produce between 3–5 scientific posts a day throughout the congress
Produce at least 3 posts prior the congress
Write a short bio to introduce themselves and allow ESGO to publish the bio on their social media platforms and website
Provide a photo and allow ESGO to publish that photo in relation to the Social Media Ambassador role
Respect a high standard of communication and content
Produce posts in good faith without any commercial influence
Post under their real name
Allow ESGO to share and promote their posts from the society’s social media channels

Selection Process

Overview

The call for participants will be launched on November 16, 2023 on the ESGO website and social media channels.

The deadline to submit applications is November 30, 2023, until 23:59 CET.

Applications can only be made via the form accessible on the congress website from November 16, 2023.

Eligibility criteria:

- Have submitted an abstract to ESGO 2024

- Be registered for the ESGO 2024 Congress

- Hold an active, public account on either Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook. (Ability to post on multiple channels is a plus.)

Selection criteria:

- Be active on social media in scientific spaces
- Experience in reporting on events/scientific topics
- A motivated candidate
- CV and specialty (we will choose candidates from a mix of several specialties)

Key Dates & Process

Applications will close on November 30, 2023, until 23.59 CEST.

Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.

The ESGO Secretariat will first check eligibility criteria. The final selection will be made by members of the Communication Committee and the social media team of ESGO 2024. Selections will take into consideration not only the individuals' expertise, qualifications, and attributes and how each individual can contribute to the Ambassadors as a collective team.

The list of the selected candidates will be made public by December 15, 2023.
