Paperless Congress

Programme will be available on the ESGO Event App in February!
  • ESGO 2024 will be a paperless congress, with no printed materials, such as the final or pocket programme.
  • The information at the venue will be available only in a digital format.
  • All congress materials will be available on the mobile App.

Waste Elimination & Recycling

at the venue

  • Recycled and eco-friendly materials and products will be used.
  • Locally sourced vegetarian food will be served.
  • Food leftovers will be donated to an animal shelter.
  • The use of plastic will be kept to a bare minimum.
  • As special treat, all delegates will get a reusable water bottle.

ESGO Selects Carbon Offset Projects

  • ESGO will be encouraging emission and pollution elimination through a donation via atmosfair.de.
  • Carbon offset projects reduce CO₂ emissions and support sustainable development by transferring technology and combating poverty.
  • ESGO council members will select the project(s) during ESGO 2024.

Congress Venue

Committed and Sustainable
  • The congress venue, Barcelona International Convention Centre - CCIB, has many initiatives in place, including waste-management systems, 100% green energy and a sustainable air conditioning system.
  • CCIB is situated at a central destination, which is easily accessible by public transportation, and reduces the need for individual taxis or shuttle, which could help reduce CO2 emissions.

Bicycle Mobile Device Chargers

To reduce electricity consumption

Out of charge on your mobile device?
Start pedalling!

  • Stationary bicycles to charge your mobile devices will be available at the congress venue.
  • It will take only up to an hour of easy pedalling to generate the energy needed to charge your mobile device battery, while getting a little exercise at the same time.

ESGO's Donation to Projects in 2023

ESGO donates to offset carbon emissions

ESGO contributed 10 Euro from each registration fee to offset the ESGO delegates' carbon footprint in 2023.
The total amount of over 21,000 Euro has been donated to the project "Biogas plants for household energy in Nepal" through atmosfair.de.

Bottles

Children in Africa received more than 2,000
reusable water bottles

Last year, ESGO donated over 2,000 reusable bottles to children in Africa.

These bottles, made from sustainable raw material sugar cane, are 100% recyclable, and will enable children to access clean and safe drinking water.
